Canon II D
October 1952 - February 1955
Production: 21725 units
Serial numbers: 64020 - 160150
The Canon IID is a 35mm rangefinder camera from 1952. It features an M39 (LTM) mount, the same as Leica screwmount cameras.
The most notable difference between the Canon IID and Leica cameras, such as the IIIC, is the integration of the rangefinder and viewfinder into one window. The Canon's integration makes the IID a much more usable camera than any Leica by today's standards. The rangefinder in the IID is bright and easy to focus with.
