Leica IIIg
1956 - 1960
Leica IIIg was the last screw mount Leica and it was introduced after the bayonet mount Leica M3 was already in production. As an upgrade of the Leica IIIf, the Leica IIIg introduced these changes:
Improved viewfinder with a larger image.
Moving frame viewfinder actuated by the rangefinder mechanism and corrected for parallax.
Film type indicator on the camera back.
Geometric progression shutter speeds: T, 1 second, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000, B.
Electronic flash sync at 1/60 and 1/30 shutter speeds.
It was made in chrome finish, although a batch of 125 units were finished in black for the Swedish Army. These cameras have three Swedish crowns engraved.
